Highlights of the Canola Trail

(155km return to Temora)

Start right here in Temora where you can explore the history of the region through the Bundawarrah Centre, home to many of Temora's impressive heritage collections including the Temora Ambulance Museum and the Temora Rural Museum, where you can gain insight into how times have changed in rural NSW. The Temora Aviation Museum is great for all ages, with a range of ex-military aircraft that will leave you in awe. Enjoy a picnic brunch by the picturesque Lake Centenary, stretch your legs and fuel up for an afternoon of fun.

Jump into the car and head to Coolamon, a pretty town with so much to offer. Wander the heritage main street, where you can step back in time in the Up-to-Date Store and RSL Museum. After you've worked up a hunger, make a bee-line for Bread & Cheese, a haven for cheese lovers. Enjoy lunch and take home a selection of cheeses for later.

Now head to Junee, home to the famous Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory. Take a tour of the factory, make a giant freckle, browse through their gift shop and enjoy a coffee and a light afternoon tea in the cafe. From there, take a drive up the hill to the ghostly Monte Cristo, which is said to be Australia's most haunted house.
