YELLOW BLOOM ROAD IS OPEN!

Yellow Bloom Road — Frequently Asked Questions

What is Yellow Bloom Road?

Yellow Bloom Road is a dedicated public canola field beside Lake Centenary in Temora, created so visitors can safely walk among the yellow canola blooms, take photographs and experience the Canola Trail up close — without entering private farmland.

Where is Yellow Bloom Road?

Yellow Bloom Road is located at Lake Centenary, 420 Goldfields Way, Temora NSW 2666.

When is Yellow Bloom Road open in 2026?

Yellow Bloom Road is open now and is currently expected to remain open until 5 October 2026.

Please note that the closing date may change depending on weather conditions and the condition of the canola crop. We recommend checking the Canola Trail or Temora Visitor Information Centre.

Is entry free?

Yes! Yellow Bloom Road is free to visit and is open for locals and visitors to enjoy the canola blooms.

Can I walk through the canola?

Yes! Unlike the surrounding commercial crops, Yellow Bloom Road has been specifically planted and prepared for visitors to walk through and enjoy.

Can I take photographs?

Absolutely! The field has been created specifically to give visitors the chance to get up close to the canola and capture those iconic yellow bloom photographs.

Can I use my drone? Drone use is not permitted at the Yellow Bloom Road canola crop. Although the crop is on Crown land, the site is within the approach area for Temora Airport, which has frequent aircraft activity. For aviation and visitor safety, please do not launch, land or operate a drone from this location.

Before every flight, check a CASA verified drone safety app and comply with all applicable aviation rules.

Can I bring children?

Yes. Yellow Bloom Road is a family-friendly outdoor experience. Children should be supervised at all times and remain within the designated areas.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, dogs are welcome! Please keep your dog on a lead at all times and remember to pick up after them. Thank you for helping us keep the area clean and enjoyable for everyone.

Is there parking and other facilities?

Yes. Visitors can access picnic areas, public toilets, BBQ facilities, coach parking and lawn/garden areas at Lake Centenary.

How long does a visit take?

You can make Yellow Bloom Road a quick stop for a few photographs or stay a little longer and enjoy the surrounding Lake Centenary area.

The 2.7 km Lake Centenary walking loop is a great option if you'd like to extend your visit and enjoy more of the lake and surrounding landscape.

Can I enter other canola fields around Temora?

No. Most of the surrounding canola crops are working farms and private property.

Please do not enter private canola fields. Yellow Bloom Road provides a dedicated place where visitors can experience the canola up close without trespassing or impacting local farmers.

When is the best time to see the canola?

The main canola flowering season is generally August and September, although the exact timing and peak colour varies each year depending on seasonal and weather conditions.

Yellow Bloom Road is open during the flowering season, so the appearance of the crop may change throughout the season.

Who can I contact for more information?

Have a question? Call the Temora Visitor Information Centre or Contact the Canola Trail Facebook or Instagram Page.
