2026 National 1 & 2 Cylinder Rally

The Veteran and Vintage Car Club of Australia (ACT) has selected Temora, NSW as the host town for the 2026 National Veteran 1 and 2-Cylinder Rally, to be held from 19 April to 25 April 2026.

Temora and its surrounding towns offer a rich farming and industrial history, complemented by excellent museums, historic buildings and a variety of interesting attractions for visitors to explore. The region’s flat roads make it an ideal location for veteran 1 and 2-cylinder cars and motorcycles, providing enjoyable and accessible driving conditions for participants.

The rally will be based at the CMCA Temora Airfield Tourist Park (formerly Temora Airfield Tourist Park), located approximately 3 kilometres from the centre of Temora and adjacent to the Temora Aviation Museum. Each day, participants will depart from the Tourist Park, which will also provide convenient trailer parking.

Artists Sophie Chauncy and Stewart James invite local community members to participate in a creative workshop that will help shape a new public artwork for the Temora Hospital Redevelopment.

About the Event

This relaxed, hands-on workshop brings together storytelling and artmaking, exploring landscape, connection to Country, and local place. Guided by Sophie, participants will work with mixed media on paper, gaining insight into her creative process while experimenting with mark making, layering, and a minimal, earthy palette.

The session will explore native flora and fauna, waterways, and local landscapes through hands-on creation using mixed media and found natural materials.

Throughout the workshop, Stewart will share local stories and cultural knowledge, providing environmental and cultural context that connects the artmaking experience back to Country and place.

This 3-hour hands-on workshop starts at 9:00am and will be held on the second Saturday of each month.

Designed for students aged 13–18, the training day offers a unique opportunity to learn aircraft building skills in a practical and engaging environment.

The Temora & District Visual Arts Centre is proud to showcase a stunning collection of paintings created by local Temora artists. The theme throughout the year focused on still life, allowing students to explore colour, composition, and creative techniques inspired by studies of famous artists.

Each artwork demonstrates not only the technical development of the artists but also their unique personal interpretations of the world around them, transforming everyday subjects into something truly extraordinary.

All paintings are available for purchase, offering art enthusiasts the opportunity to support local talent and bring a piece of Temora’s vibrant artistic community into their own homes.

Karen Walsh, the Centre’s Art Tutor, reflects:

Looking for a fun and unique school holiday activity? Our Summer Sim Special is available throughout the holidays and is ideal for families.

Summer Sim Special – $129

• All family members rotate through the same aircraft
• 1- hour total simulator time
• 4 x 15-minute missions
• Maximum 4 participants (10 years and over)
(If less than 4 participants fly, time will be shared accordingly)

Includes free Museum entry for up to 4 people
