Nature Reserves
For nature enthusiasts, a number of nature reserves provide a beautiful insight into the scenic bushland of Temora Shire.
These include Ingalba Nature Reserve, which is situated 10 kilometres west of Temora, and Pucawan Nature Reserve, a further 6km west.
Big Bush Nature Reserve is 15 kilometres northwest of Temora. As well as being important remnants within a poorly reserved bioregion, the reserves contain several regionally significant plant species and provide habitat for a number of threatened animal species. Visitor Notice: Some trails within Big Bush Nature Reserve cross private property and access to parts of the reserve is via private land. Visitors are asked to respect private property boundaries and not trespass.
For a more accessible nature experience, we encourage visitors to explore Ingalba Nature Reserve, which offers easier public access and visitor facilities. Ingalba Nature Reserve is particularly accessible as it is located on the Burley Griffin Way. It is a peaceful place to enter and observe how this former state forest and logging site is now being conserved for future generations.
