From June 1st to 14th July, an impressive Aboriginal artwork showcase will grace the Temora Art Centre, Temora Library, and the Bundawarra Centre Cultural Precinct. Among the featured works are pieces by acclaimed Wiradjuri artist Aunty Lorraine Tye, along with captivating digital narratives by artists from Wiradjuri, Ngiyampaa, Barkandji, Walbunga communities, and collaborations with non-Aboriginal creatives.
Highlighting Temora Shire's rich cultural tapestry are striking artworks like guuga 'goanna' and gaagumarra 'Embrace' by Wiradjuri artist Stewart James, in collaboration with the local Temora community.
Additionally, the exhibition will showcase the vibrant 'Dots by Designz' collection and offer immersive workshops led by Anmatyerr sisters Eisha and Sandy Kemarr from Arrunge, Northern Territory.
An integral part of the showcase is the Temora High School Aboriginal Education Team's contributions, including a quilt, reflective pieces, and a digital narrative depicting the creation process behind the water tank artworks.
